Federal Period Pocket Watches
The total number of early watchmakers working in America compared to makers working in Europe was extremely small and surviving examples of American-signed watches are few. Watches in this section were made after the Treaty of Paris of 1783 that ended the Revolutionary War. The Federal Period generally dates up to 1830 but a number of later watches are also shown.
