Nathaniel Hawxhurst
Nathaniel (Hauxhurst) Hawxhurst (1756-1847) was born in Oyster Bay, New York and worked from about 1780 to 1801 as a clock and watchmaker in New York City. He is listed at 204 Queen Street in the 1786 directory. The family was involved in the import tool trade and partnered with the Demilts, toward the end of the century.

Description: Fusee movement with a verge escapement signed "Nathl Hawxhurst New York". The silver pair cases are hallmarked for London 1796 and has a maker mark "IG", the same case maker that Demilt used, likely Joseph Glenny, London, with the King George III export duty mark.
