COLONIAL WATCHES

The signing of the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783 between the United States of America and its allies and Great Britain officially ended the Revolutionary War. There are only a few surviving watches from this period.

The earliest is a ca. 1720 watch signed John Wright, New York that was recently discovered in New Hampshire in 2010. This watch and others can be accessed from the navigation bar on the right.
